Here are some comments from the parents of former students, or the students themselves.
“Eleanor has high-functioning autism, anxiety, depression and PTSD due to a house fire. We tried a traditional driving school and the owner basically fired her as a client.”
“I got my permit in January 2022 and have taken 8 lessons across two driving schools and 4 instructors.”
“She started driving school with a traditional vendor who classified her as “dangerous” and did not want to move forward with her.”
“Olivia has ADHD and anxiety. She is 18 years old. We had her in another driving school and the instructor felt that she was too anxious to drive. He said that she made him too nervous and referred us to you.”
Do these sound like your situation? I hear stories like this so often. Many of my students have multiple diagnoses, each of which will impact their learning ability differently, and each of which has to be taken into account in the teaching process. And yes, many of my referrals come from other driving schools, who often find students with these learning differences too difficult or too dangerous for them to teach. That’s why Modern Driver Institute exists.
