Car 01 was a black 2008 Volvo S40 2.4i sedan with a tan interior.  It was in service from September 19, 2014 until May 20, 2015.

Although the car was in top shape, the Pennsylvania Department of Education requires that all training vehicles are no more than 8 years old, by title date.  Car 01 was titled in November, 2007, and so would have reached the end of its operational lifespan this November.

In May, a perfect replacement was found, and Car 01 was retired as soon as the new car was ready.
